Summary. Pseudomyxoma peritonei is a rare complex pathology with unique biological behavior, which is usually associated with the progression of mucinous neoplasia of the appendix and implantation spread in the abdominal cavity. To replace the old approaches for palliative treatment of this pathology today comes the proactive method of combined treatment using cytoreductive surgery and perioperative intraperitoneal chemotherapy, which provides a prognosis for such patients at a qualitatively new level.
