Comprehensive treatment for resectable oral cancer stages III–IV. Current state of the problem

Summary. For a long time in the Europe and USA standard treatment for resectable cancer of the oral cavity stages III–IV has been a surgery followed by radiotherapy or concurrent chemoradiotherapy. Today the organ preservation approaches are used in the treatment of cancer of the larynx, hypopharynx, oropharynx but the standard treatment of oral cancer is not changing. An overview of randomized trials on the issue of squamous cell carcinoma comprehensive treatment of the head and neck in general and resectable malignant tumors of oral cavity stages III–IV in particular.
