Informativeness of computed tomography in diagnosis of peritoneal carcinomatosis in patients with ovarian cancer

Summary. Cytoreductive surgery is the basis of combined approach to the treatment of ovarian cancer with peritoneal carcinomatosis. Evaluation of intraperitoneal dissemination to plan treatment strategy is the main key to improvement of survival of patients. Computed tomography is mainly used for preoperative imaging of ovarian cancer spread. Nowadays, increasingly important researches are those aimed at determining of sensitivity of computed tomography to diagnose peritoneal carcinomatosis in patients with ovarian cancer.
