Comparison characteristics of damage from cancer in urban and rural population of Ukraine

Summary. Research of development of oncoepidemiological process in Ukraine has been carried out for the purpose of revealing its distinctive age and gender features in urban and rural population. Incidence rates are calculated on the National Cancer Registry personificated database with the use of methods of mathematical and medical statistics and descriptive epidemiology. Retrospective report data of 1969–1972, as well as 825 thousands of new cancer cases in Ukraine in 2002–2007 were under the research. It has been ascertained that cancer incidence in Ukrainian population keeps stable increasing tendency, with higher value in urban population. The most frequent cancer sites in male population are lung and urino-genital system, in female population – breast and reproductive organs. The results of the research proved the priorities in anti-cancer activity in Ukraine taking into account social and economics as well as gender features of the population.
