Neo-adjuvant chemotherapy in the treatment of the patients with invasive bladder cancer

Summary. Purpose: to improve the efficacy of complex treatment and improve quality of life of patients with invasive bladder cancer by the use of neoadjuvant chemotherapy. Materials and methods: 28 patients with invasive bladder cancer, which held neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by assessment of its effectiveness by RECIST criteria. Results: The stabilization was observed in 9 (32.1%) cases, the progression — in 3 (10.7%), partial response — 14 (50%), complete regression — 2 (7.1%). Conclusion: The cases of complete and partial tumor regression in patients allowed to perform organ-sparing surgery, thus improving their quality of life.
