Modern approach in surgical treatment hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein invasion

Summary. The goal of research was result improving of patient treatment with hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein invasion. The research includes the main group, 21 patients with hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein invasion ІІ–ІІІ st (Shu 2007), that were operated for hepatectomy, portal vein and portoplastic, the controll group 61 patient with portal vein invasion I st (Shu 2007), operated only for hepatectomy. The mortality rate was 9.5% in the main group and 8.1% in the control group. Long-term 5 — year survival is 11.5% in the main group and 25.3% in the control group. Aggressive surgical approach in case of hepatocellular carcinoma with portal vein invasion increases long-term survival of the patients.
