Pain management in highly traumatic thoracic surgery. Problem description based on a series of clinical casesSummary. Highly traumatic thoracic surgeries are surgeries involving significant damage to the rib cage, often accompanied by resection of the ribs, sternum, clavicle, and sometimes damage to the vertebrae. Anesthesia planning for patients undergoing such operations should be personalized and performed considering factors related to both the operation itself (type of surgical trauma, access, predicted blood loss) and the patient initial functional status. This article represents a series of four clinical cases of patients with different initial conditions who underwent highly traumatic thoracic surgery with varying degrees of damage to the rib cage. Described clinical examples can be used as a model for developing anesthetic strategies in patients undergoing highly traumatic thoracic surgery. No Comments » Add your |
