Summary. Esophageal cancer is a highly malignant disease with early lymphatic metastasis. Holistic approach is the most effective in the treatment of patients with this nosological diagnosis. To determine the effectiveness of preoperative chemoradiotherapy for esophageal cancer the randomized research was made, they carried out a comparative analysis of the standard chemoradiotherapy with intraarterial therapy. The research included 54 patients with intrathoracic esophagus. In 26 patients preoperative chemoradiation therapy with intraarterial administration of cytostatic drugs was used, and in 28 patients — standard chemoradiation therapy. Immediate results did not differ in the frequency of regression of postoperative complications and toxic. Long-term results have not been studied in connection with the short period from the beginning of the research. The analysis of survival and long-term results determines the feasibility of preoperative chemoradiotherapy with intraarterial administration of cytostatics in patients with intrathoracic esophageal cancer.
