Lung oncology: a new era in therapy
Summary. The scientific-practical conference “Lung Oncology: a new era in therapy”, held on June 20, 2025, in Kyiv, was dedicated to the latest approaches in lung cancer treatment based on the use of targeted therapies. The closing session of the event was opened by Yaroslav Vasilyovych Shparik, head of the Chemotherapy Department at the Lviv Oncology Center and Candidate of Medical Sciences, with a keynote presentation titled “New therapeutic opportunities for patients with metastatic EGFRm NSCLC: focus on TKI + chemotherapy combination”. The presentation highlighted the prospects and challenges of lung cancer therapy using the combination of osimertinib with chemotherapy, which extends survival of patients with EGFR-positive non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC).
