Treatment and prevention of toxic phlebitis induced by chemotherapy in patients with breast cancer

Summary. This article presents a literature review on the development, diagnosis and treatment of toxic phlebitis and extravazation as a result of chemotherapy, and the experiences of these complications in patients with breast cancer. Revealed that local complications of chemotherapy are quite frequent (15%) and sometimes serious, the development of which can lead to reduced effectiveness of chemotherapy and requires active treatment and prevention.
