Neoadjuvant chemotherapy–facilitated fertility-sparing surgery in patients with cervical cancer

Summary. Cervical cancer is a clinically challenging condition requiring a balance between oncologic safety and fertility preservation. Objective. To present a clinical case of cervical cancer with fertility-sparing management. Case presentation. A 24-year-old woman was diagnosed with invasive HPV-associated squamous cell carcinoma of the cervix. Treatment and outcome. The patient received neoadjuvant chemotherapy followed by fertility-sparing surgery with no evidence of recurrence. Conclusions. An individualized multidisciplinary approach may provide favorable oncologic outcomes while preserving fertility.
